Dear Dealers, Ticket Holders and Friends of the Festival
For the first time in Randolph Street Market’s 18-year history, we have to close the balance of our summer festival in Three Oaks, MI due to severe weather and venue conditions. Refunds will be promptly sent out this week.
Most of you know our super-huge antique market festival venue in Chicago’s West Loop is currently under construction, which prompted us to create a mini “taste” of Randolph with the original concept of bringing a select group of 40+ dealers on a road trip this summer.
We landed in Three Oaks, Michigan, an artsy, cultural community with boutique-style retail that complemented our Antique and Vintage vibe. The show would be a fun day-trip for our Chicago customers and offer our clientele with homes up there a fun way to reconnect with us.
Three Oaks Michigan and the surrounding harbor country towns, locals, and our Chicago following greeted us with open arms at our May opener which was a smash. Everyone now wanted the full festival rather than just a popup version.
We heard the cry and have been adding dealers steadily and this next show we were expanding with dealers onto the adjacent field. The field works in ideal weather conditions and until now we have been in a record setting drought. With heavy rain happening now and predicted through next week, and our indoor venue space having size and A/C limitations, our inability to accommodate more dealers, sponsors, and entertainment make expansion and operations impossible. Unfortunately, these issues can’t be resolved for the balance of our summer program which now has forced us to shut down.
We have had a great time in Michigan and we thank all of you for your love and support in making our May and June Markets a big success. We are heartbroken, we’ve had soooo much fun with everyone but I personally can’t deal with the uncertainty surrounding weather anymore. Don’t despair, we will be back next summer in Chicago and hopefully can also find a super space in or near Three Oaks with paved onsite parking, room to expand outdoors and lots of air conditioned indoor space, making a great Randolph Street Market festival experience in rain or shine!
Regrets . . . and we apologize for any inconvenience.
